Pastor Sims is a native of Jefferson, Ga where he was raised with 5 siblings by his mother and father. He attended and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1990, he excelled in team sports. During his senior year, he met his lovely wife Samone Sims. 

Our first lady is a native of Commerce, Ga. She attended Commerce High School and graduated in 1988. Sister Sims has been in church all her life and was active in her home church.  Sister Sims is a strong voice for the women and children of the church and practices her faith constantly within and outside of the church.

Pastor Sims has been in the ministry for a number of years that started as a Deacon. He accepted his calling to preach in 1999 and has continued to grow in the Word through seminary at Gwinnett Bible College. He became the pastor of Poplar Spring Baptist Church in 2012.

Pastor and first lady have been married for 31 years. Together they have three children Tyler, Kendall and Tramelia.
